Come to Christ the King Lutheran Church at 208 E Watts Street in Enterprise on March 17 from 10-11:30 to join us on a Journey to the Cross!
What is Journey to the Cross? It’s a multi-sensory way to experience the road to Calvary and the path to the empty tomb and to deepen your appreciation for the Passion of Christ. You will touch, taste, smell, see, hear, and experience Bible events in real and memorable ways. You will meet your tour guide and a small group of travelers at the customs station, get your passport, have your photo taken, and check in. You will go with your guide to Holy Land stations to meet people portraying Bible characters who describe Passion events. You will wave palm branches, taste Passover foods, sing songs, and more. You will also collect passport stickers, creating a souvenir book that recalls Holy Week and this experience.
Why should you Journey to the Cross? Well, which is easier—describing the taste of your favorite food or letting someone have a bite? Your friend has a fuller experience eating it than if you merely described it. In the same way, Journey to the Cross enhances understanding of the Passion story. Details of Bible events come alive as connections are made through touch, taste, and action. Journey to the Cross moves learning to a new level by actively involving participants in the Passion story. By hearing the Passion story in a different way, by experiencing Jesus’ journey to the cross, you and your family will gain a new and deeper appreciation of Christ’s death and resurrection.
The Journey begins on Saturday, March 17. All ages are welcome, and a golf cart will be provided for those who need it. Enjoy your experience with us and then head downtown for the St. Patrick’s Day parade. Please call Christina Hardy at 334-347-6716 to register.
