Who SAID You Can't Use THAT Kind Of Pod In Your Keurig?

Posted on Mar 30, 2017 by Mark Giles

Hey, do you have one of those Keurig 2.0 coffee makers?  You put the little pod inside, and about a minute later, you have hot java!  Well, ours stopped working this past week.  Just up and quit.  We were getting a message that the pod wasn’t approved for use in Keurig.  And you couldn’t make a cup of coffee with it!  It basically locks you out.

Which hits me as a little bit ridiculous.  I mean, the Keurig punches a hole in the top and bottom of your pod....hot water runs thru your pod.....and whatever in the pod mixes with the water, pouring in to your cup.  It’s not like it’s something electronic that’s going to mess up your Keurig.  What it IS is a way for them to make sure that you only buy Keurig pods.

So....you know I have a little bit of rebel in me, right?  I did a little research, and was able to find out how the motherboard worked on those Keurigs....and which wires did what.  Took that thing apart, snipped one wire....tied two other wires together, and now we can put ANY pod we want to in our Keurig, with full menu options!  Take that!  ;-)

I’m thinking about opening up a business on the side, now that I know how to do it.   Who ya gonna call?  Keurig Busters!   ;-)
